I have seen the passing of one moon since I last wrote in this log. However, I find that the delay is not dissatisfying. LOG ENTRY #11 I have made the ultimate conquest in the time since my last entry. This time rather than registering a username, an alias, some feeble representation of myself I have gone forth and registered www.linuxfood.net. I debated for many months, many moons, and seasons whether or not I should register my own domain. However I was emboldened by success with a domain transfer (www.bikeclubosaka.com). There have been no new conquests on the alias front.

I have not quested for many a day, but I have made a fine one this day. LOG ENTRY #10: It has been almost a week since my last conquest. Having been involved in other matters of import, I was unable to continue my campaign. However this day was the day of a great conquest, I have taken PHPBuilder.com. I found the site too flashy for my tastes, but then, that’s not why I shall use it. It’s only purpose is to aid me in my complete domination of the alias linuxfood. I did find however that it’s forums and code library can be of some use to me. Satisfied with my conquest for the day, I return to my daily life.

Conquests continue today, even through illness. LOG ENTRY #2: Today I quested for a site to conquer and came to the realization that I had not conquered freshmeat. Ashamed of my laxity in my war, I immediately registered, providing the required information -- email, name, website, signature. All so trivial, yet important to my campaign. The registration is done, the obligatory confirmation mail responded to I take time to look over the features provided by my alias.
Looking over the features, I find that they are rather sparse, almost not worthy of my alias, almost. I find the features provided include project listing, advanced sorting, comments, user page, etc.. Nothing that excites me terribly, nevertheless I will make use of their features. Satisfied with my conquest for the day, I return to my daily life.

The LJ wankers finally sent me a confirmation email. And it only took them over 12 hours too! Congratulations guys, that’s record time. I have to give them some credit though, they are using open source, and even gave me their database schema. Anyways, here begins the log of my conquests over the alias linuxfood. I SHALL OWN IT.LOG ENTRY #1: After a fruitless attempt at sleep, I awake to find my room still unreasonably heated. I find myself longing for winter. I have begun my daily conquests with the registration of linuxfood on linux.com. After pressing the submit button on their registration form, I find myself reflecting on how I would not have even bothered to register there if it were not for my quest. This lead me to thinking, how did it ever become that I needed to completely own the alias linuxfood? Then I remember, it was because searching google for linuxfood revealed that I was more present on the internet than I had thought. Thus began my obsession. Satisfied with my conquest for the day, I return to my daily life as Brian Smith, plain, boring Brian Smith.

Damn LJ, the wankers still haven’t sent me the confirmation email. It’s been over an HOUR since I registered. That’s unacceptable. Servers twice as loaded as theirs could send out an email in 5 minutes or less. That noted, I decided to invest in an LJ app for linux because it’s better than looking at the LJ web interface. Damn you, damn you all. I didn't want to get a LJ, but my dominance over the linuxfood alias must be COMPLETE. I will detail my conquests here. |
